What to Pack in Baby’s Hospital Bag

I’ve finally received the diaper bag I ordered and finished picking up the last bits for baby’s hopsital bag, so today I’m really excited to share what I’ve packed. There are lots of lists around, and many of them contain a lot of extra things I feel you don’t really need. This is what I’m taking with me based on what my hospital recommends and my research:

  • 7 newborn size diapers
  • cotton wool
  • olive oil
  • 1 pack of Waterwipes
  • Vaseline
  • 3 outfit packs (Each pack includes a onsie, sleepsuit, bib, hat, diaper and socks. The going home outfit includes a cardigan.)
  • swaddle blanket
  • blanket
  • 3 muslin cloths
  • If you aren’t breastfeeding, you’ll need to bring your own milk in the UK.**

Can you think of anything I may have left off? I don’t have much room left in the bag, but if it’s really compelling, I’ll certainly try to add it!

This might sound like a really stupid question but what have you labelled the outfit bags? xxx

Not stupid at all! My husband actually made fun of me for one of my labels, so you may want to change them to whatever makes sense for you. I labelled the first outfit “After Birth”, which he keeps calling afterbirth, so maybe that should have been “First Outfit” (lol). The other two are “Home Outfit” for going home and “Spare 0-1 months.” I’m debating whether or not to pack a 0-3 months outfit in case he’s long.

      Hope that helps!! xx
